K'gari Day Tours

Q: What type of vehicle will I be travelling in?
A: Our 4WD coaches have been specifically designed to navigate the sandy tracks and unique terrain found on K'gari. They are air-conditioned, have panoramic windows and are capable of carrying 40 passengers.

Q: What meals are included in the Day Tour?
A: A hot and cold buffet lunch is served at K'gari Beach Resort.

Q: What will I see on a day tour?
A: On our day tours of Fraser Island you'll discover the crystal-clear waters of Lake McKenzie, the lush Pile Valley rainforest, the flowing freshwater of Eli Creek, the rusting charm of the Maheno Shipwreck, the colourful sands of The Pinnacles, and the endless shores of 75 Mile Beach, all in one action-packed day.

Q: Do you have any advice for pregnant travellers and people with medical conditions?
A: As this tour is off-road on sand tracks and conditions can be rough at times, we advise all pregnant travellers and people with medical conditions to seek medical advice before booking this tour.

Q: Where do people stay on the multi-day tours?
A: Multi-day tour guests will stay at one or both Kingfisher Bay Resort and K'gari Beach Resort. Accommodation depends on the type of tour booked.

Q: Are your tours child friendly?
A: Children over the age of one are welcome on all of our tours. If your child is under the age of eight, please provide them with a car seat. If you do not have a car seat, please call the Reservations Team before booking.

Q: Do you offer tours in languages other than English?
A: Yes, we have a Foreign Language Guide App that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store prior to arrival.

Hervey Bay Departure:

• Self-drive to Hervey Bay, or fly via major capital cities to Hervey Bay Airport.
• The adventure begins with a courtesy pick-up from select locations in Hervey Bay (between 7.00am and 8.00am) or make your own way to our Mainland Reception in River Heads for check-in by 8.00am.
• Ferry departure at 8.30am from River Heads to K’gari Fraser Island.

Rainbow Beach Departure:

• Rainbow Beach is a perfect spot for a beach holiday and ideally situated next to the world’s largest sand island, so why not make the most of this exceptional location with a day trip to the world-famous Fraser Island?
• The adventure begins with a pick-up from your select locations in Rainbow Beach or by self-driving to our departure location. You’ll arrive at Inskip Point (7.45am) for a 10-15 minute cruise across to Hook Point, the southern tip of K’gari Fraser Island.

At the end of the day, you’ll return to Rainbow Beach or Hervey Bay between approximately 5:30pm and 6:00pm (courtesy drop-offs to select locations).
