K'gari Explorer Tours provides a range of services for families, couples, solo travellers, and groups. We attract guests from all over the world looking to experience the best of Australia.

Our foreign language guide app provides expert commentary and fun facts about the world's largest sand island in audio and script formats. The app is an easy-to-navigate, free resource that allows users to play, pause, fast forward and rewind the interesting and educational content available.

To download the app, search for K'gari Explorer Tours on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. With limited phone service available on the island, we recommend downloading and installing the app prior to arrival.

Six Languages

Audio guides and scripts are available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Chinese.

Downloading The App

Connectivity to mobile service is very limited on K’gari and at our mainland ferry departure terminal. We recommend downloading and installing the K'gari Explorer Tours foreign language guide app prior to arriving on the island. Once installed, open the app before arriving at the mainland terminal to download content for offline use.

Offline Usage

Be prepared! The app will work offline on K’gari but the content must be downloaded first, prior to offline use. This is done automatically when the app is opened for the first time, when connected to the internet.

Travel tip: As internet on K'gari is limited, we recommend downloading the app before arriving on the island, to ensure all content is ready to go!

Headphones

To avoid disrupting fellow tour guests, please supply and use your own headphones.

Battery Charge

Make sure your phone is fully charged. There are no charging stations whilst on the tour, so we recommend using aeroplane mode to preserve battery during the day.
